About Stadium Rider Training
Established since 2000, at the Old Walthamstow Stadium London E4, Stadium Rider Training’s longevity is a direct result of our continuing commitment to provide a first class service to our customers. We are a passionate team of motorcyclists now based at the Army Reserve Centre in Barnet which has an excellent well maintained training ground for our motorcycle training. The roads in the area are ideally suited to both CBT and post CBT training including DAS and ADVANCED RIDING with a rich and diverse variety of roads to test each skill level. Our DVSA approved Training School has an up-to-date fleet of ABS equipped Yamaha, Suzuki and Honda Motorcycles for the full licence courses and a selection of 125 cc motorcycles and scooters for CBT training.
All our instructors are trained to IAM and RoSPA Gold Standard.
There is an indoor classroom, nearby parking and we are close to Barnet High Street with its abundant cafes and shops. All equipment is provided free of charge (subject to COVID-19 restrictions when applicable)
The site is easily accessible from the M25, A1, A406. High Barnet is the nearest Tube station (Northern Line).
Whether you want a CBT or wish to obtain a full motorcycle licence, we take great pride in our training and guarantee that you will enjoy your experience with Stadium Rider Training.
About Chris Reed
Chris Reed took ownership of Stadium Rider Training from his Partner Mike Short in 2017 and has continued to lead the way in DVSA approved motorcycle training in the North London Area.
His passion for motorcycles has never waned since he first learned to ride way back in 1979 on a Yamaha RS125DX and passed his riding test later that year at Chingford Test Centre. During a successful career in Management at the Bank of England and then for Trans European Technology, a Computer Software company based in the Barbican, London, Chris stayed close to biking at weekends and in any other spare time he had.
In 1981 Chris began his time as an Instructor with the RAC / ACU training scheme in Loughton before becoming Chief Instructor in 1983 and an Examiner in 1985. During this time Chris joined the Essex Advanced Motorcyclists Group (EAMG) and passed his Advanced Riding Test with the Institute of Advanced Motorists in May 1986. In 1988 Chris qualified to become an Advanced Instructor with the Group. In the early 1990’s Chris was Chairman of EAMG for two years and also qualified as a Senior Observer with the Institute of Advanced Motorists. In 1998, Chris took and passed the RoSPA Advanced Motorcyclists Test at Gold standard – the highest civilian riding award currently available. Reassessed by Police class one motorcyclists every three years, this is a qualification that Chris still proudly retains. In the late 1990’s Chris also qualified with the Driving Standards Agency as a CBT and DAS (Direct Access) Instructor.
Chris received a National award from Motorcycle News in 2006. The ‘Pride of Biking’ award was presented to Chris at the NEC Bike Show by Ryuichi Kiyonari for his ‘individual commitment to motorcycling’. After having been re elected as Chairman for Essex Advanced Motorcyclists group several more times, Chris wanted to particularly focus on the standard of training and currently holds the position of Senior Observer Assessor, responsible for training standards within the group and is joint head of the Training Team.
Chris’s vision has always been for Stadium Rider Training to train riders to the best of their ability and to improve motorcyclist safety on the road.
